People living in Whitwell will be seeing a new face on the streets as the neighbourhood policing team welcomes a new member.

Phil Levers is the latest Police Community Support Officer to join the Whitwell Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team.

PCSO Levers, who lives in north Derbyshire, was previously a security engineer but also volunteered as a Special Constable for three years in the Killamarsh area.

The Chesterfield FC fan was recently successful in applying for a PCSO vacancy and has now started his new role.

Since moving to Whitwell he has been patrolling the streets, learning about the area and meeting members of the local community.

PCSO Levers said: “I’ve always been interested in a career with the police, and I’m really looking forward to linking in with the local community and hopefully making a difference to any concerns.

“If there are any concerns or issues you think we could help with then please contact us and if you see me out and about in the area, don’t hesitate to stop and say hello.”
