New figures reveal call-outs to Doncaster prison complex

Police officers have been called out to Doncaster Prison and the Young Offenders Institute on 320 occasions over the last three years, new figures reveal.

Between January and November this year South Yorkshire Police sent officers to the prison complex 113 times, compared to 135 in 2012 and 72 in 2011.

Incidents dealt with this year include 21 allegations of violence, five thefts, nine drug offences, four incidents of damage and one burglary.

In 2011 two sudden deaths were dealt with.
