Neighbourhood Watch in Sheffield in bid to capture new generation

Have your say

Sheffield’s Neighbourhood Watch is trying to capture a new and younger generation of supporters, using social media to help tackle crime.

Organisers are inviting people who want to help make their communities safer to a re-launch of Neighbourhood Watch later this month.

It is to be held in the Adsetts Lecture Theatre, opposite the Crucible Theatre, at 7pm on Wednesday, August 27.

Chairman Wendy Zealand says, “We want users of Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other social media apps to help us all feel safer and join our network. These tools can be useful and efficient in the fight against crime against a backdrop of cuts to policing numbers and rising incidences of household burglary and car crime.”
