![A violent man who beat his partner while their three young children were present has been slammed by a Sheffield judge for his lack of remorse.
During the course of the violent incident on October 21, 2022, 27-year-old Jason Marriott not only assaulted his partner, leaving her with what prosecutors described as ‘significant injuries’, but he also attacked his own mother when she attempted to intervene, Sheffield Crown Court heard.
Referring to the contents of Marriott’s pre-sentence report, and a number of outbursts he made during his October 24, 2023 sentencing hearing, Judge Sarah Wright told him: "It appears you show no remorse, and seem to blame others, particularly your partner."
Jailing Marriott for 16 months, Judge Wright told him: "You’ve had substantial time in custody, and have had time to reflect on what you’ve done; but it appears that you have not got to the point where you realise that you are to blame, and not anyone else."](https://www.thestar.co.uk/jpim-static/image/2023/11/03/15/16/Jason%20Marriott%3A%20%27No%20remorse%27%20from%20callous%20thug%20who%20beat%20partner%20while%20their%20young%20children%20were%20home.jpg?crop=3:2&width=640)

![A man who came into the country illegally to become a 'cannabis janitor' at a significant Sheffield grow to pay off a £50,000 debt accrued in Albania has been jailed.
The criminality of Rigles Ndreka was exposed after police raided a property on Staniforth Road, Darnall.
Prosecuting barrister, Richard Davies, told Sheffield Crown Court that officers found a 'cannabis grow' consisting of 24 plants in the loft of the property, and Ndreka was found sleeping.
Mr Davies said a 'hydroponic system' was being used to assist with the grow, and the electricity supply at the property had been bypassed.
"The defendant told the police that he was an Albanian national who came to the UK a year before on a lorry…when interviewed by the police, the defendant made full admissions in relation to the cannabis found. He said he had done everything himself," Mr Davies told the court.
However, Ndreka’s assertion that he was entirely responsible for the set-up was quickly contradicted by his barrister, Clarkson Baptiste, who told The Recorder of Sheffield, Judge Jeremy Richardson KC, that Ndreka had 'lied' to the police.
Ndreka, aged 33, was charged with, and pleaded guilty to being concerned in the production cannabis at an earlier hearing.
Jailing Ndreka, of Whittington Road, Palmers Green, North London, for 17 months, the judge told him: "It needs to be made clear to men and women like you in Albania that if you come to this country to indulge in this form of criminality, a prison sentence will be the result. It has to be immediate custody."](https://www.thestar.co.uk/jpim-static/image/2023/11/03/15/57/Rigles%20Ndreka%3A%20%27Cannabis%20janitor%27%20worked%20at%20Sheffield%20grow%20to%20pay%20off%20%C2%A350k%20debt%20accrued%20in%20Albania.jpg?crop=3:2&width=640)

![This is the 23-year-old man who brutally beat up and sexually assaulted an innocent elderly woman, as she was taking part in a litter-pick in a Sheffield park.
Saed Mohamed repeatedly punched and kicked his victim in the head and body before dragging her into nearby bushes, during what police describe as a 'prolonged and violent attack' in the Firth Park area of Sheffield.
After dragging the terrified woman, who is in her 80s, into bushes, twisted Mohamed tried to take off her clothes and sexually assaulted her, as she pleaded for Mohamed to stop and shouted for help. Mohamed, of The Oval, Firth Park eventually, fled the scene.
The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, suffered significant bruises and a cut to her face which required stitches. She was left traumatised and subsequently suffered a brain injury, which is thought to have happened as a result of the horrific attack, which took place in December 2022.
Mohamed was traced by detectives after they found his mobile phone in the grass near to where the attack took place. A warrant was executed at his address, and Mohamed was arrested and charged with Section 18 GBH and sexual assault.

Tammy Lane, of Adlington Crescent, Southey Green, Sheffield was sentenced to two years in prison for a section 20 assault during a Sheffield Crown Court hearing held on October 30, 2023 after she violently assaulted a police officer while they were arresting a suspect for drug offences.
Speaking after Lane was jailed, a South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Lane broke the officer’s nose and chipped four of his teeth after viciously kicking him.
"The officer was working alongside another officer on a plain-clothed operation in the city centre looking for a wanted man, before they stopped a man for a search under the Misuse of Drugs act.
"While the detained man was lashing out with his hands and feet, a bag containing 20 wraps of drugs fell out of the man’s pocket.
"The officer managed to pick up the drugs, whilst still detaining the man on the floor.
"Lane approached, brutally kicking the officer with full force in the head, causing substantial injuries."
The officer in charge of this case added: “I would like to commend the officers’ bravery in this case.
"Despite sustaining serious injuries to the head, they managed to keep the man safely detained on the ground before back-up arrived.
“This incident goes to show that our officers put their lives in danger every day for their job.
"I hope this sentence shows that we take any aggression shown towards officers extremely seriously and that it will not be tolerated.”
