A murder probe has been launched after the death of a woman found critically injured in a house in Doncaster.

The woman, in her 20s, was found in a property in Dryden Road, Balby, when emergency services were called at 11.35pm on Friday, June 5.

She was found critically injured and was pronounced dead a short time later.

A 45-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder remains in police custody today.

A crime scene cordon is in place and under police guard this afternoon while enquiries are carried out.

South Yorkshire Police said: “Emergency services were called last night to reports of a woman with serious injuries.

“A woman in her 20s was found to be critically injured. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.”
