Murder probe continues following discovery of body in Doncaster

A murder probe is continuing this morning following the discovery of a body in Doncaster.

The body of 51-year-old Jerry Appicella was found by police officers in a house in Craganour Place, Denaby Main, on Sunday after concerns for his welfare were raised.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his death was initially treated as suspicious.

Yesterday, detectives revealed that the death is now being treated as murder.

He is believed to have been involved in an incident prior to his death on Tuesday, December 3 near to the the Go Local Shop in Hickleton Street, Denaby.

Detectives want to hear from any witnesses to that incident.

Mr Appicella’s home was cordoned off following the discovery of his body and police patrols have been stepped up.
