Murder investigation continues after death of man found outside Sheffeld flats

Detectives are continuing to investigate the death of a man found outside flats in Sheffield yesterday.

Paramedics were called to Brimmesfield Close, Arbourthorne, in the early hours of yesterday to a 54-year-old man found slumped outside a block of flats.

He was pronounced dead a short time later and the death was reported to South Yorkshire Police.

A murder probe was launched at 1.45am and a 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder.

The suspect remained in police custody last night.

Neighbours named the man who died as David Hawley.

A post mortem examination was due to have been carried out yesterday but the results have not yet been disclosed.

Police officers spent most of yesterday at the scene carrying out enquiries and looking for people who may have seen or heard anything suspicious.
