When mum-of-three Tracey Rodgers’s son Kyle lost his wallet in the city centre earlier this month, he feared the worst.

However, a few days later the wallet reappeared at his family home in Barnsley alongside a note - but no other information about who had dropped it off.

Tracey now hopes to get a thank you message to whoever found it, expressing her and Kyle’s gratitude for their kindness.

She said: “To the very kind-hearted person that has found our Kyle's wallet last night in Sheffield and been and posted it through our letterbox.

“Thank you so much, just wish you had knocked on the door so I could have personally thanked you. Still with all his cards and money inside.”

Kyle was in Sheffield after returning home to Barnsley from Catterick garrison, where he is stationed with the Army.

On Tracey’s Facebook page, friends praised the kind-hearted actions of those who found it.

Lisa Ackroyd said: “There aren't many decent folk left in this world like this lovely person.”

And Sarah Athey said: “It’s so nice to hear something positive for a change and honest people still exist! Hats off to whoever they are especially with everything still in it!”
