Shaun Lyall, aged 47, was tortured and battered to death in his home in Cleethorpes in July 2018.

Mr Lyall was battered with a range of weapons including golf clubs, screwdrivers, a knife, scissors and a length of wood.

The motive for the attack is said to have been missing drugs and cash that Mr Lyall was supposed to have been looking after.

Craig Whittle, 46, of Corporation Road, Grimsby, was jailed for life over the murder but jurors in his trial were told that he did not act alone and Sheffield man Abdi Ali was also involved in the killing.

Ali has links to Shirecliffe and Pitsmoor and has been described by detectives investigating Mr Lyall’s murder as a ‘significant suspect’ in the case.

The 30-year-old, who is also known as Mohammed Ismail, Black Johnny, Gulaid and Madman, was born in Somalia but brought up in Sheffield, where he lived until he moved to the east coast in the summer of 2018.

He believed to be deliberately evading arrest.

Mr Lyall’s mum, Serena, runs a Facebook page where she regularly publishes Ali’s photograph and description in a bid to raise awareness that he is still wanted by the police.

In a recent post, she described the extent of the attack on her son and published a diagram of his body detailing where all his 170 injuries were found.

She said: “Before the start of Craig Whittle’s trial, police had to show me an inventory of every single injury that Shaun had sustained in his brutal murder.

“It all would be revealed in the trial and they wanted me to see it first.

“It was a simple diagram with a cross marking every injury. Shaun’s diagram had 170 crosses. 47 on his head and neck. Each injury named – a day I will never forget.”

Anyone with information on Ali’s whereabouts should call Humberside Police on 101 and quote incident number 517 of July 17, 2018.
