Motorist caught driving in Sheffield without UK licence and insurance banned from the road

A motorist who was caught for the second time driving without a UK licence and insurance has been banned from the road.

Sheffield Magistrates’ Court heard on July 30 how Mohamad Tahir Noori, aged 24, of South View Crescent, Nether Edge, Sheffield, was stopped by police on Fellbrigg Road, Arbourthorne, Sheffield.

Alison Goldsmith, prosecuting, said police established he was not insured and he did not have a UK driving licence.

Noori, who has previously been convicted for driving without a licence and insurance from December, admitted driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and without insurance after the incident on June 3.

He claimed he thought he could drive with his own country’s licence.

Magistrates fined Noori £120 and ordered him to pay £85 costs and a £34 victim surcharge and they reduced his previous fine to £239 due to financial difficulties.

Noori was given a further six penalty points and banned from driving for six months.
