A motorist was caught by South Yorkshire Police driving at the ‘ridiculous speed’ of 115mph yesterday.

Roads policing officers clocked him speeding at Junction 1 of the M18 at Hellaby, Rotherham.

South Yorkshire Police described the 115mph speed logged as ‘ridiculous’.

The motorist was also found to be an illegal immigrant, had no documentation for driving and was in possession of large amount of cash.

Officers seized the stash of cash along with the car.

Police enquiries are continuing today.
