Motorcyclist rushed to Sheffield hospital with serious injuries after crash

Police are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage after a crash on a South Yorkshire road left a motorcyclist in hospital with ‘serious injuries’.

Emergency services were called to the A628 between Hoylandswaine and Silkstone, close to Barnsley, at 3.30pm on Saturday following a collision involving a blue coloured Suzuki motorcycle just as the uphill stretch of the road splits into two lanes.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 26-year-old man, was taken to the Northern General Hospital with serious injuries where he remains in a serious condition, police said.

The road was completely closed following the incident.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who saw the motorcycle prior to the collision or witnessed the crash. They also want to hear from anyone who have have captured dash-cam footage.
