Police are re-appealing for help in finding a teenage girl who has been missing from her home since the weekend.

Maria Muntean, aged 14, was last seen at 4.20pm on Sunday, when she left her home in Dowcar Lane, Woodall, Rotherham.

The youngster, who does not speak much English and recently moved to South Yorkshire from Spain, is believed to be pregnant.

She has connections with Romania, where it is believed she was born.

Chief Inspector Richard Butterworth said: “Maria is an incredibly vulnerable young girl who we desperately need to trace to ensure she is safe and well.

“She has not been seen or heard from since she left home on Sunday afternoon.

“Our investigation covers a number of regions in the United Kingdom. We have also asked for assistance from police forces in Spain and Romania, as we cannot rule out the possibility that Maria may have travelled back to these countries.”
