Men released by police after questioning over tram conductor attack in Sheffield

Four men arrested over an attack on a tram conductor in Sheffield have been released under investigation after police questioning.

The men, two aged 18 and the others 19 and 23, were arrested on suspicion of assault after an incident on a tram at the City Hall stop on Tuesday, January 19.

It was reported that at 9.10pm, a 56-year-old conductor was attacked by a group of men.

One or more of the group may have been ‘tram-surfing’ prior to the assault.
