Men jailed after drugs road trip

TWO men who were caught in a car with £47,000 worth of heroin after collecting it from Sheffield to sell on the streets of Gloucester have been jailed.

Cousins Mohammed Dilu Miah, aged 31, of Morpeth Street, Gloucester, who was driving the car, was sentenced to three years and Ripon Miah, 31, of Broad Street, Newent, received a four year term.

Mohammed admitted possessing drug with intent to supply and his cousin, who denied the offence, was convicted after a two day trial.

Nicholas Gerasimidis, prosecuting, said analysis of five mobile phones found in the car showed they had been at an Indian takeaway restaurant on the outskirts of Sheffield of the night of the drug-fetching trip.
