Men flee as police bust Sheffield cannabis farm
Police posed with huge cannabis plants after busting a drugs farms in Sheffield.
Officers seized around 200 cannabis plants after raiding a detached house on Kaye Place in Crookesmoor on Sunday, November 29.
They were alerted by members of the public who reported men acting suspiciously at around 10.15pm.
When police arrived, the men had fled but officers discovered an ‘elaborate’ set-up with ‘extensive adaptations’ to the property’s electrical wiring. The plants were spread across five rooms, with more than half being over four feet tall.
Sergeant Simon Kirkham, who is leading the investigation, said: “This seizure of drugs is part of a wider ongoing police investigation focused on organised criminal activity in the area.”
He thanked members of the public for reporting their suspicions, calling their support ‘vital and very much appreciated’.
South Yorkshire Police said no arrests had been made, with enquiries ongoing to identify those involved.
