Men arrested in Sheffield murder probe released under investigation

Two men who were arrested in a murder probe after a man was shot dead in Sheffield have been released under investigation.

Ramey Salem was gunned down in a house in Grimesthorpe Road South, Burngreave, at around 1am on Monday (November 16).

The 20-year-old was taken to hospital with multiple gunshot wounds but was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

Yesterday (Thursday, November 19) a 21-year-old Sheffield man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and a 33-year-old Sheffield man has been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice in connection with the incident.

South Yorkshire Police have now confirmed that both men have been released under investigation.

Detectives investigating the shooting say they are treating it as an ‘isolated’ incident and it is not being linked with a fatal stabbing in Sharrow the day before.
