It comes as today (Tuesday, 18 February) marks three years since Aseel Al-Essaie was fatally shot at point-blank range as he sat alone in a stationary white Mercedes on Daniel Hill, Upperthorpe.

Aseel’s sister's engagement party was taking place in a house nearby when he was killed.

Last week The Star reported how Aseel’s memorial, which was painted on the side of a since-closed shop close to where he died, had seemingly been splattered with grey paint.

Now it appears black paint has also been splashed over the mural on the wall of Red Monkey tattoo studio. It is not known when the vandalism took place or if it will be removed.

In 2018 three Sheffield men were found guilty and sentenced to a total of 90 years in prison for Aseel’s murder.
