Police are hunting two masked men who attempted to rob a woman walking through an underpass in South Yorkshire.

The 38-year-old victim told officers she was approached by two men wearing balaclavas who attempted to grab her bag.

She said they then appeared to ‘walk away from the scene quickly, as though they had changed their minds’.

The men were around 6ft tall, white, slim and both were wearing dark clothing.

They were also wearing balaclavas and one of the men had a blonde tuft of hair sticking through the eyepiece.

They struck at the Alhambra roundabout in Barnsley town centre.

Witnesses to the incident at 5.25pm on Tuesday, January 6 should call police on 101.
