The car, which was on false number plates, had been stolen from the south of the country.

When officers examined it they found a number of stolen catalytic converters inside.

They also recently recovered a yellow Fiat in Cudworth, Barnsley which had been stolen from West Yorkshire.

The car was sent off for forensic examination.

They were also informed of 117 abandoned vehicles and they seized another 19 after finding them being used in a manner likely to cause alarm, distress or annoyance.

Officers were also deployed to 240 collisions in the same month, 21 of which proved fatal or left people with serious injuries.
