Man with knife arrested after threatening Sheffield security guard with fire extinguisher

A man who threatened a Sheffield security guard with a fire extinguisher was found to be carrying a knife when he was arrested.

Officers were deployed to Sheffield city centre on Sunday after a security guard reported having been threatened by a man with a fire extinguisher.

When the suspect was arrested and searched he was found to be carrying a knife.

The 39-year-old was interviewed and later charged before being granted bail ahead of a future appearance at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court.
