Man taken to hospital after ‘shooting and stabbing’ in Sheffield

South Yorkshire police have been called to an address in Sheffield after reports a shooting.

Police and paramedics were called to an address in Exeter Drive, Broomhall at around 4am on December 19, and a 38-year-old man was taken to hospital with injuries to his leg consistent with firearms discharge, and a stabbing.

An investigation has been launched and a cordon remains at the scene whilst officers conduct their enquiries.

Additional patrols are in place in the area to provide “reassurance” to the local community.

A spokesman for the police said: “Anyone with information that might help our investigation is asked to come forward.

“Were you in the area at the time? Did you see or hear anything suspicious? Do you know who might be responsible?
