A MAN is in hospital after being stabbed in the stomach in broad daylight on a busy Sheffield street.

The 43-year-old was found near the Chinese Fireworks Company on London Road just after 5.30pm on Saturday.

He was taken to the Northern General Hospital with a single stab would to the stomach.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said the man’s condition is not life-threatening, but officers have not yet been able to interview him. It is believed he was stabbed during a disagreement between street drinkers.

Police cordoned off the underpass at the end of London Road and closed parts of Cemetery Road.

Areas around the Chinese Fireworks Company and the Baan Thai restaurant were also taped off.
