Man stabbed in the face and stomach during teenage gang attack in broad daylight

A man was stabbed in the face and stomach after being attacked by a gang of teenagers in broad daylight in Doncaster.

Police have now launched an investigation after the 36-year-old was set upon by the group of 14-15 year olds in Cantley yesterday afternoon.

The victim suffered wounds to his arm, face and abdomen in the assault after he attempted to intervene in an altercation within the group.

Police were called at around 3.30pm to reports of a disturbance in Sarrius Court, near to the Hawthorn Social Club.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “It is reported that a 36-year-old man had attempted to intervene in an altercation between a group of teenagers, believed to be aged 14-15, when he was stabbed by one of them.

“The man was then assaulted by further members of the group.”

It is then believed the group fled in the direction of Goodison Boulevard.

The spokesman added: “The man suffered minor, superficial wounds to his arm, face and abdomen. He was treated at the scene by paramedics.”

Eyewitnesses reported seeing a number of police vehicles and an ambulance at the scene in the aftermath of the attack.

An investigation has been launched and enquiries are ongoing to locate those responsible.
