Man spotted driving 'erratically' in Sheffield arrested for drug and drink driving

A 43-year-old man has been arrested for driving ‘erratically’ in a Sheffield suburb over the weekend, while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Members of the Sheffield North East Neighbourhood Policing Team spotted a Skoda 4x4 vehicle in the Wilcox Road and Fox Hill Road area and the driver tested positive for having a trace amount of an illegal drug in his system.

Police arrested the 43-year-old who on Saturday, November 21, who was later charged for failing to provide a further specimen for analysis.

A spokesperson said: “We would like to remind people of the devastating damage drug and drink driving brings to families.

“Our intelligence suggests many people are still taking the risk to drive whilst under the influence of drugs.

“These people not only put themselves at risk, but others who are often innocently going about their daily lives.

“If you believe someone in our community is driving whilst under the influence let us know.”
