Man shot in series of shootings within minutes of each other across Sheffield estate

Police have launched a manhunt after a shooting spree on a Sheffield estate.

Police were alerted to a number of shooting incidents in the Arbourthorne area of the city yesterday evening.

At 6.20pm, police received reports of shots fired at an address on Errington Avenue. Officers attended the scene and found evidence of shotgun discharge.Eighteen minutes later police received reports of further shots fired at an address on Eastern Avenue. When police arrived, they discovered damage to a window consistent with shotgun discharge.At 6:48pm, there were reports of shots fired from a vehicle on Errington Way.Minutes later a 35-year-old man attended Northern General Hospital with a shotgun injury to his leg. He remains in hospital receiving treatment but injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

In a statement, South Yorkshire police said: “Shortly after these incidents, police in the Arbourthorne area pursued a blue Honda 4x4 which subsequently failed to stop for officers. This vehicle remains outstanding. “Police are treating the incidents as linked. No arrests have yet been made. “Additional officers have been deployed to the area to carry out increased patrols and provide reassurance to the local community.“Were you in the area last night?
