Man ‘seriously injured’ and rushed to hospital after fight breaks out on West Street during busy night out

A man has been ‘seriously injured’ in a fight in Sheffield city centre.

The incident took place on West Street on Saturday evening (December 21) at around 10.40pm.

A man in his 30s was taken to hospital with serious injuries, say South Yorkshire Police.

Two men, a 24-year-old Sheffield man and a 28-year-old man from the Rotherham area, were arrested on suspicion of assault.

Both of the men were later released under investigation while enquiries continue.
