Man ‘sat in his car’ when he was shot in broad daylight on busy Sheffield street

A shooting near to Bramall Lane football stadium in Sheffield is not being linked to any others by the police, it has emerged today.

South Yorkshire Police said detectives investigating the shooting of a 22-year-old man in Sheffield last Friday ‘have no reason to believe this is linked to any other incidents’.

The man was shot in his shoulder as he sat in a car on Hill Street, close to the junction with London Road.

He staggered into the nearby Premier store on Bramall Lane to raise the alarm.

Paramedics took him to hospital for treatment but he has since been discharged and is expected to make a full recovery.

South Yorkshire Police also said today that officers involved in the case are ‘reviewing nearby CCTV footage as part of the investigation’.

No arrests have yet been made over the gun attack.
