Man robbed at knifepoint after arranging to meet 'buyer' of mobile phone in Sheffield street

The victim, a man in his 20s, arranged to meet a man in Lyons Road, Burngreave, after advertising his mobile phone for sale on an online selling site.
He pulled up in his car and was approached by the buyer, who produced a knife, threatened the seller and grabbed the phone.

Hide AdWhen the seller got out of his car after his phone was stolen, the robber then produced a baseball bat.
CCTV footage has been released of a man police want to speak to over the incident, which happened at around 3.20pm on Thursday, July 23.
Detective Constable Ryan Griffiths, of South Yorkshire Police, said: “At around 3.20pm on July 23, a man in his 20s arrived on Lyons Road where he had agreed to meet a man interested in buying his mobile phone.
“As he pulled up, a man approached his car and demanded to see the phone. When the victim explained it was in a sealed box, this man pulled out a knife and threatened him. He then took the box and ran away from the car.

Hide Ad“The victim got out of his vehicle, but was threatened again, this time the unknown offender pulled a baseball bat from underneath his clothing.”
