Man remains in custody after arrest for attempted murder over shooting in Sheffield

A man remains in police custody this morning after being arrested over a shooting in Sheffield.

The 30-year-old was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a gun was fired in Northcote Avenue, Meersbrook, at around 10.55pm on Friday, January 10.

Officers arrested him at a house in Chesterfield overnight on Monday into Tuesday.

The shooting took place five minutes before a gun was fired at the Kettle Black bar on Ecclesfield Road.

A man was arrested and charged over the later offence.Luca Premi, 24, of Treswell Crescent, Hillsborough, is accused of assault and possession of a bladed article and an imitation firearm.

There were at least nine shootings in nine days in South Yorkshire between Saturday, January 4 and Monday, January 13.
