Man launched torrent of vile homophobic abuse at passenger on packed Sheffield bus

Officers investigating a reported hate crime in Sheffield are appealing for witnesses who may be able to help.

Shortly after 7pm on Sunday 23 May, a 28-year-old man was travelling on the 11A bus through The Moor.

Poice say that as the bus travelled along Leighton Road at 7.19pm, it’s reported that another man directed homophobic abuse towards the man.

Early enquiries indicate that there were numerous passengers on board the bus at the time this incident took place. Police officers are asking for anyone who was on the 11A bus that evening to get in touch.
