A MAN who stabbed a Sheffield teenager to death on a city street ‘because he was drunk’ has been locked up for life and ordered to serve a minimum of 23 years behind bars.
Danny Parr, aged 21, stabbed 19-year-old Jamie Stuart to death as he made his way home from a 21st birthday party in Parson Cross last year.
He was jailed this morning by a judge at Sheffield Crown Court after he was yesterday found guilty of murder by a jury.
Jurors took just two-and-a-half hours to find Parr guilty of Jamie’s murder.
A trial was originally held last year but jurors were unable to reach a verdict.
At his re-trial, Parr admitted he had stabbed Jamie but denied intending to kill him or cause him serious harm.
