A MAN who broke another man’s jaw in a hammer attack has been jailed.

Ryan Stacey, aged 27, of Lime Tree Close, Brimington, had an argument with a 52-year-old man outside a Staveley pub on July 13 and later in the day when a second row broke out he used a wooden hammer to strike his victim in the face.

Derby Crown Court heard Stacey’s victim suffered a fractured jaw and needed stitches for a cut to his cheek.

Stacey pleaded guilty to wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and was sent to prison for 40 months.
