Man in court over wounding and possessing blade in Sheffield street

A man has appeared in court accused of wounding and possession of a blade following an altercation in Sheffield last month which left man seriously injured.

Mark Anthony Cooper, aged 37, of West Park Drive, Swallownest, Rotherham, is alleged to have been involved in a disturbance outside the Sheffield Trades and Labour Club in Duke Street at around 10pm on Saturday, 22 March.

A 39-year-old man was taken to hospital after the incident.

Cooper has been remanded in custody.
