A man accused of killing Sheffield paint sprayer Simon Holdsworth entered no plea when he appeared in court.

Shaun Richard Wainwright, aged 45, of Dagnam Road, Arbourthorne, was at Sheffield Crown Court yesterday for a preliminary hearing about the case.

No plea was entered and he was remanded in custody ahead of a plea and case management hearing that will take place at a later date this year.

Mr Holdsworth’s body was discovered in a field next to Rainbow Forge Primary School, off Birley Spa Lane, Hackenthorpe, on Tuesday, December 17.

The paint sprayer, from Westfield Avenue, Hackenthorpe, was attacked as he made his way home from work at FBS Prestige in Intake, Sheffield.

He failed to make it home and was reported missing.
