Man in court over Rotherham rape attacks

A man accused of raping two women in Rotherham has appeared in court in Sheffield.

Nicholas Totty, aged 25, of Newman Road, Whiston, Rotherham, is charged with four counts of rape, one of wounding with intent, one of wounding, plus assault and inflicting grievous bodily harm.

The charges relate to attacks on two women who were targeted on the same weekend in September.

Totty appeared for a preliminary hearing at Sheffield Crown Court and was remanded in custody.

The case was adjourned.
