Man in hospital after serious collision in Sheffield

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision on Staniforth Road in Darnall.

Emergency services were called on Friday January 8 following reports of a collision on Staniforth Road, at the junction with Ouse Road.

Two cars, a blue Toyota Aygo and a white Mazda 2, were involved in the collision at 7.15pm. The Mazda is understood to have been travelling along Staniforth Road in the direction of Darnall, the Toyota is believed to have been entering Staniforth Road from an access lane.

The driver of the Toyota, a 50-year-old Sheffield man, was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition. The driver of the Mazda, a 19-year-old Sheffield man, suffered minor injuries.
