Man hit by car on Sheffield street dies in hospital

A 51-year-old man who suffered life-threatening injuries in a collision last week has died in hospital.

At 7.10pm on Tuesday March 24, it is reported that a black Skoda Yeti and a pedestrian were involved in a collision on Beet Street in Netherthorpe.

The pedestrian, a 51-year-old Sheffield man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

He sadly died a few days later.

A public appeal to identify the pedestrian, who was initially believed to be a man in his 30s, was issued last week.

Police have since traced the man’s family and they are receiving support from specially trained officers.

Witnesses, especially those with dashcam footage, are still sought to the collision.
