Man held over attack on OAP released by detectives

One of three men arrested on suspicion of attempting to murder a Rotherham pensioner has been released without charge.

The 23-year-old was arrested on Sunday along with two 19-year-old men following the discovery of an injured 80-year-old man collapsed in his home in Salisbury Road, Maltby, on Friday.

Police said the 19-year-old suspects, from Rotherham, remain in custody.

The pensioner is in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
