Man with gun hunted over shop raids in Sheffield

A robber armed with a gun is wanted by the police over two shop raids in Sheffield.

He struck at a pawnbrokers on Angel Street in the city centre just before 4.30pm on Friday, January 3 before fleeing and raiding a hairdressers on Fulwood Road, Broomhill, 15 minutes later.

In both shops he threatened staff with a gun while making demands for cash.He left the pawnbrokers empty-handed but got away with a small amount of cash from the hairdressers.

An E-fit of the armed robber has been released.South Yorkshire Police said: “No one was injured in either of the incidents but those in the shops were understandably left incredibly shaken by what happened.

“As enquiries continue to find the man involved, officers have released this e-fit image.”

Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 554 of January 3.
