Man given penalty notice after brawl

A BRAWL landed a man with a fixed penalty notice after officers were alerted to the early morning incident on Shoreham Street in Highfield, Sheffield.

Police arrested one man on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly before issuing the penalty notice. Nobody was injured.

Two men arrested over a fight on a bus in Sheffield have been issued with fixed penalty notices. Police were called to the brawl on the bus on Nursery Street near The Wicker.

A SMOKE alarm installed in a house by firefighters alerted a family-of-six to a kitchen fire. The alarm was fitted at the property on Manor Oaks Road, Wybourn, Sheffield, as part of a community safety initiative. It activated when a grill pan caught fire on Thursday night.

FIREFIGHTERS were called out to the store room of an electrical shop on New Street, Halfway, Sheffield, after a blaze broke out yesterday morning. They extinguished the flames within half an hour and ventilated the room. The cause of the fire is not yet known.

BUXTON Mountain Rescue Team was called to Millers Dale when a 16-year-old girl collapsed on the Monsal Trail. She was treated by paramedics and carried to a waiting ambulance to be taken to Chesterfield Hospital for treatment on Wednesday night.

A MAN in his fifties is on bail after being arrested by police on suspicion of possessing cannabis with intent to supply. He was arrested after officers raided a property on Shirecliffe Road, Shiregreen, Sheffield.

A BMW car found burning on Wensleydale Drive, Brinsworth, Rotherham, had been set alight deliberately. Firefighters were called to deal with the blaze but it was already out when they arrived.

FIRE crews were called out to a skip which was set alight in an arson attack. The fire on Tinker Lane, Hoyland Common, Barnsley, was discovered at 8.10pm on Thursday.

FIREFIGHTERS were called to a foundry in Sheffield after an extraction unit caught fire. The incident at Darwin Alloy Castings, Sheffield Road, Tinsley, did not stop production.
