Man found dead in Doncaster

A 51-year-old man has been found dead in Doncaster and police say they are treating his death as suspicious.

Police said officers had found the man’s body inside a property on Craganour Place, in Denaby Main, after receiving calls raising concern for his welfare.

Detectives are in the area this evening, Sunday, December 15, making initial enquiries and South Yorkshire Police said officers would remain in place through the evening and overnight.

The man has not yet been formally identified and a post-mortem examination is yet to take place.

South Yorkshire Police said in a statement: “The man’s death is currently being treated as suspicious and an investigation is underway.”

It is not yet known how the man, who police said was local, died.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 422 of December 14.
