Man charged over threatening delivery at Sheffield traffic lights after car crash

A man has been accused of threatening a delivery driver after a crash in Sheffield.

Dale Bamford, aged 27, of Oakworth Close, Mosborough, has been charged with a public order offence and two traffic offences – failing to provide a specimen for analysis and leaving the scene of an accident over an incident in Hillsborough just before 8am on Sunday, November 15.

He has been bailed to appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court in February 2021.

In a statement, South Yorkshire Police said: “It’s reported that while waiting at traffic lights, a delivery driver has been approached in his vehicle and threatened by an unknown man.

“The man is said to have been involved in a one-vehicle road traffic collision in the moments prior.

“A 27-year-old man was arrested close-by on suspicion of traffic and public order offences.”

Witnesses or anyone with information about the incident should call South Yorkshire Police on 101.
