A man has been charged over an attack on Ecclesall Road in Sheffield which left another man fighting for life.

Louis Ward, aged 27, of Broomfield Road, Broomhall, Sheffield, is accused of assault over the incident and is due at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court today.

Mr Mahmood was airlifted to hospital and is in a critical condition.
