Man charged after police swoop on £100k cannabis grow in Barnsley home

A man has been charged after a cannabis grow worth £100k was unearthed at a Barnsley house.

Officers from the South Yorkshire Police’s Fortify team swooped on a property in Middlesex Street at around 3pm on Thursday (June 4).

A total of 243 cannabis plants with a street value of £100k were seized and a 43-year-old man was arrested at the scene.

Ilir Istrefaj has since been charged with production of cannabis. He is set to appear before Magistrates today.
