Man ‘causing problems’ at Sheffield Tesco charged for shoplifting and failing to provide drug test sample

A 27-year-old man, who has been causing problems in a Sheffield suburb, has been charged for shoplifting on Monday (December 23).

Mohammad Mufta, of no fixed address has also been charged for failing to undergo a drug test.

Neighbourhood Inspector to the Sheffield West area, Inspector Collette Fitzgibbons said: "Yesterday, I worked in the custody area at Shepcote and met many prisoners.

"One of those was Mohammad Mufta, age 27 years, NFA (no fixed address).

"He has been charged and is attending court today having been causing problems at the Tesco on Abbeydale Drive.

"He is charged with two shoplifting and failing to provide a sample for a Class A drug test,” she said.

"We are working with our colleagues at the central Safer Neighbourhood services team to see what else can be done to tackle this man's behaviour."

And now that Christmas is just around the corner, she also urged the public to drink responsibly this festive season.

"My shift in custody yesterday served as a reminder that what can start out as a fun drink with friends and family, can end up as a trip to our custody suite so please enjoy yourselves but not to excess so that you do all enjoy a Happy Christmas!" she said.
