Man attacked car with a hammer in Sheffield

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man allegedly damaged a car with a hammer.

A man was driving his car along Moss Way, towards the direction of the police station on Saturday February 1 at around 12:10pm.

He stopped at a crossing waiting for a tram to pass, and while waiting it is believed a car pulled up at the side of the victim, a passenger exited the car and brandished a weapon at the victim.

It is then alleged the man threw a hammer at the victim’s car before getting back in his car and following the victim towards the A57.

The victim headed back towards the police station and the offenders car was driven off.The man is described being black, aged between 25-30 and of a large muscular build.Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 515 of 1 February 2020.
