Man arrested on suspicion of murder following disappearance of Chesterfield pensioner

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the disappearance of a Chesterfield pensioner.

Graham Snell, 71, was reported missing from Chesterfield on Sunday, June 30.

A missing person investigation was soon launched and through enquiries Derbyshire police determined that Graham was last seen alive in Chesterfield Town Centre on Wednesday, June 19.

However, after information came to light during these enquiries police changed the investigation to one of murder.

A 29-year-old man, from Chesterfield has now been arrested on suspicion of murder, and is currently in police custody.

A second man, a 31 year-old, from Chesterfield, has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Over the past three days officers have been focusing their enquiries in and around Mr Snell’s home in Marsden Street, close to Chesterfield town centre.
