A man has been arrested over the murder of a Sheffield man gunned down on a city street.

Grant Bodell, aged 23, was found with gunshot wounds on wasteland off Queen Mary Road, Manor, in the early hours of Saturday, June 21.

The father-of-two was pronounced dead in hospital a short time later.

South Yorkshire Police arrested a 25-year-old Sheffield man on suspicion of murder this morning.

He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Shortly before the fatal gun attack police were alerted to the sound of gunfire near to The Embassy pub on Mansfield Road, Intake.

Officers are linking the earlier incident to the murder.

Corrie Lewis Allen, aged 24, of Windy House Lane, Manor and a 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named, have been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
