Man arrested on suspicion of drug offences after crash on Sheffield estate

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drug offences after a crash on a Sheffield estate.

The collision occurred near the junction of Hastilar Road and Woodgrove Avenue shortly after 3pm this afternoon.

The driver of one of the cars was taken to hospital for tests but the other driver was arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs with the intent to supply.

A spokesperson said: “Officers were called at 3.14pm today (Friday 12 March) to reports of a road traffic collision on Woodgrove Avenue in the Woodthorpe area of Sheffield.

“It is reported that two cars , a white Volkswagen golf and a blue Volkswagen touran collided.

“The driver of the golf was taken to hospital for further checks.

“The driver of the touran, a 36-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs with the intent to supply and remains in custody.
